A genuine vintage Russian balalaika dating from the USSR era (c.1950s–1970s). This traditional triangular-bodied folk instrument measures approx. 80cm long x 48cm wide and features a spruce soundboard with decorative edging, a multi-section hardwood back, and original Soviet-era geared tuners with a metal tailpiece.
The balalaika is one of Russia’s most iconic instruments, with roots in village folk music and enduring popularity in concert performance. This example, with its striking triangular form and warm honeyed finish, makes both a playable instrument (with restringing and setup) and a beautiful display piece of Soviet-era craftsmanship.
Dimensions: 80cm long x 48cm wide
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age.
A fine collectible for musicians, folk enthusiasts, and lovers of mid-century Russian design.
