A rare and highly collectible mid-century design piece for the serious art glass enthusiast. This exquisite, hand-blown clear glass pig sculpture is the iconic "Pig in Pig in Pig" design by the renowned Swiss glass artist Roberto Niederer, produced at the historic Glasi Hergiswil glassworks in Switzerland (circa 1970s).
Masterfully crafted using challenging lampwork and glass-blowing techniques, the larger hollow mother pig features Niederer’s signature minimalist stylized features, applied ears, a perfectly pinched snout, and a delicate curled tail. Inside her clear, elongated belly safely float smaller, perfectly formed miniature glass piglets.
Because these items are hand-crafted, each piece is entirely unique. This whimsical yet sophisticated sculpture catches and refracts light beautifully, making it a stellar addition to any Scandinavian, Mid-Century Modern, or European art glass collection.
