Vintage Hand Crafted Bowl with Wicker Braided Border

A striking piece of handcrafted tribal-style tableware. This five-pointed star bowl appears to be hand-formed black earthenware with a soft burnished finish, set off by a woven rattan border laced through hand-drilled holes around the rim. The style is strongly reminiscent of the rattan-trimmed blackware traditionally made on Lombok, Indonesia, though it carries no maker’s mark.

Ideal as a salad or fruit bowl, a statement centrepiece, or simply a display piece for anyone who loves organic, handmade textures.
