A charming solid brass miniature of an old-fashioned lace-up boot by Elpec, the English brassware maker. Nicely detailed casting with toe cap, punched lace eyelets, folded tongue, rolled ankle and heel, 2 small mice, plus a decorative sole with concentric swirl and stitch-dot border.
The sole is stamped “ELPEC REG 855362” – a British registered design number pointing to the late 1940s.
Open at the top, so it works as a desk tidy, toothpick or match holder, tiny planter, or simply as a shelf curio. Great for anyone who collects brass, shoe figurines or English mantel pieces.
