Vintage 1998 Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace Electronic CommTech Reader.
Functionality: This electronic peripheral was designed to interact with the translucent "CommTech Chips" included with the basic 3.75-inch action figures from the 1999 movie line. Placed on the reader, the chips unlocked specific character audio clips, dialogue, and sound effects from the film.
Design Aesthetic: The device itself is styled to look exactly like Qui-Gon Jinn’s Jedi comlink communicator.
Packaging: It comes in its original, unopened red-and-black blister card packaging featuring Darth Maul’s face in the upper-left corner. The packaging includes the reader itself along with an exclusive CommTech chip.
