Making a quiet, confident statement that you cannot deny. This Lauris Olympic ladies' dress watch from the late 1960s to mid 1970s, the era when watchmakers treated the case and bracelet as one sculptural piece of jewellery, embodies grace and elegance.
The asymmetric teardrop case flows straight into an integrated brick-link bracelet, hand-finished crosshatch "Florentine" texture, which catches the light in every direction. At its centre sits a domed oval crystal over a deep oxblood-burgundy dial with fine gold radiating indices, applied-style 12 and 6 numerals, and slim gold baton hands. Over five decades the dial has developed a soft, mottled warmth that collectors prize. No two dials of this age look quite alike.
Inside is a 17-jewel manual-wind mechanical movement with Incabloc shock protection, the Swiss shock-absorbing system that defined quality mechanical watchmaking of the period. There's no battery to replace, just a daily wind and the satisfying tick of a real mechanical heart.
The bracelet closes with a fold-over clasp and its original safety chain, a thoughtful period detail that is often lost over the years.
Untested and sold as is.
