Space-age ingenuity meets 1970s warmth. This Japanese-made folding desk lamp, the Universal Senior, collapses into a neat, streamlined box. Unfold it and a chrome arm lifts a rectangular shade into position, ready for reading, study or a moody bedside glow.
The glossy chocolate-brown body is finished with cream end panels, a textured beige inset on the top and polished chrome hardware. Speed-line vents on the shade give it a hint of Streamline Moderne. A rear keyhole lets it double as a wall-mounted reading light. The slide switch on the base sits beside the original cream flex and two-pin plug.
It’s a perfect fit for collectors of mid-century and space-age lighting, Japanese industrial design, or anyone after a compact retro task lamp with real personality.
