Silver-Plated Brogue Boot – Novelty Desk Ornament / Match or Pin Holder

A charming little cast-metal ankle boot in a silver-plated finish, made in the style of an early 20th-century gentleman’s lace-up brogue. The detailing is excellent: punched brogue trim around the cap toe, vamp and heel counter, raised eyelets up the front, a stitched-effect welt around the sole, and a defined block heel. It even still has a short length of navy cord threaded through the eyelets as a lace.

The open top makes it practical as well as decorative. Similar boots were used as match holders, pin cushions or toothpick holders, and it works equally well today for pens, small bits and pieces, or simply as a curio on a shelf or desk.
