A charming hand-made Border Fine Arts sculpture from the James Herriot “All Creatures Great and Small” series. Inspired by one of Herriot’s best-loved stories: Moses, a half-frozen black kitten rescued from the rushes on a Yorkshire farm, who was later found living happily among the pigs, snuggled in with the sow and her litter.
Here, Bertha the sow lies contentedly on the straw nursing her piglets, while Moses keeps watch from the top of a dry-stone wall beside a weathered timber fence. Lovely detail throughout, from the piglets’ curled tails to the moss on the stonework and the cat’s green eyes.
