This is a vintage letterpress printing block (also known as a printer's block or electrotype cut) mounted on a wooden base. 

An advertisement for Kayser "Shapemakers" hosiery/stockings.

Features mirrored text and graphic illustrations of legs wearing stockings.

Slogan/Text reads: "WALK WITH YOU / STRETCH TO / Shapemakers / KAYSER".

The top rights features text listing benefits (e.g., no more Laddering/runs, tight fit, etc.).

Used in mid-20th-century commercial printing (newspapers, magazines, or catalogs) to print illustrated advertisements using ink and a printing press.

Construction: A zinc/copper metal photoengraved plate nailed to a dense wooden block to bring it to "type height" for the press.

Perfect for letterpress artists, printmakers, and antique decor collectors.

Condition is fair-to-good with typical ink staining and age-related wear on the wood backing.
