Beautifully rendered in the iconic Tang dynasty style, this hand-crafted pottery horse features the classic sancai (“three-color”) glaze in flowing tones of ochre, green, and cobalt over an ivory base. The piece displays impressive detailing in the saddle, mane, and bridle, evoking the majesty of Tang dynasty tomb figures.
The underside bears a museum-style impressed mark reading “洛陽博物館製” — Luoyang Museum Made — suggesting it was produced as a collectible or reproduction for the Luoyang Museum in China, one of the most important repositories of Tang cultural heritage.
Likely made in the mid-to-late 20th century, these museum reproductions have become collectible in their own right for their craftsmanship and decorative appeal.
Perfect as a statement piece for collectors of Chinese antiques or lovers of equestrian décor.
Dimensions: Approx. 30 cm tall
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with natural glaze crazing and minor surface wear consistent with age.
