Expertly crafted cold painted bronze figures, depicting a romantic scene of a boy and girl on a journey of love, with intricate details and substantial mass. These exquisite figures stand on elegant marble bases, adding a touch of sophistication to any space. A perfect addition for art collectors and interior design enthusiasts. Circa early 20th century.
Approx 620mm high. Marble base diameter 220mm max. Available for viewing at La La Vintage Semaphore.
The figures exhibit strong Art Nouveau influences, particularly in the natural motifs and romantic styling, suggesting they likely date from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1930). Their cold-painted surface — a technique associated with Austrian and French bronze work of the period — remains vibrant, with charming green and auburn tones bringing life to the clothing and foliage.
These are substantial pieces, both in size and craftsmanship, likely made as decorative interior bronzes rather than later reproductions. While unsigned, the quality is comparable to Vienna bronze atelier works.
